Im using this for my final peice as my magazine advertisement. I used the house style that im using throughout to keep the same authenticity to my media project. I used a simple font which I felt related to the style of genre for the name of the band and for the name of the album "Loud Fast & F!*ked Up" I felt it represented the care-free and hectic lifestyle of a punk/rock artist or band. Keeping the font white keeps the advertisement simple and clear as I beleive that a advertisement of this genre should not be colourful and cheerful. The reason I used this main image is because it is still using the same style and using the clown image which signifies the band and the genre. I also created rating from different magazines and qoutes from other bands to give The Richard Heads a good reputation. The advertisement links well with my currernt digipak design and it also links with the genre that im trying to represent.

I tried to complete a second draft in which i used the same type of style however I used a different image and a different font. The colours are the same as I want them to be the same throughout. I prefer my first draft to this one because I feel this draft is to simple and it wouldnt be appealing if I was wanting to buy an album. I am going to use my other draft and improve it to then use it as my final peice.
This my first draft of the digipak front cover, I started off simple by using a small range of colours and creating a genuine house style. Editing it on photoshop i have adjusted the contrast and brightness to make the colours stand out more and creating a bright bold effect which gives the clown a more frightening image. The clown mask is the main focus of the digipak and i want to carry that on throughout. The clown is a signnifier for the richard heads and i want it to be the main symbol within the digipak and the advertisement. This is because the clown mask represents punk/rock in a steretypical view. Ive placed the clown to the left of the cover and have the name of the band at the top so it is clear. The name of the album 'Loud, fast and f!*ked up' looks as if he's shouting it.

First Video Draft
For my media video we decided to use the song Henry Hoover by The Richard Heads, we had ideas of using a henry hoover and making it act as if a punk/rock artist or skinhead stereotype would act. We filmed what we had planned but it did not go aswell as we first thought and we only got a small amount of footage. The way in which we wanted to film it was too difficult and we did not get a good amount of quality footage. After doing this we decided we would change the song choice and we went for the song Stalker by the same band. We used a person in a clown mask to go around causing trouble and being a sort of rebel. We chose to use a clown mask because they are seen as quite scary and we thought they suited the stereotype of a punk/rock artist or someone who listens to that sort of genre.

Kerrang wesbite research

The Kerrang website gives you added information on top of the magazine and the latest information on upcoming bands and events. The website has a similar vibe as the magazine and has the same conventions as any punk/rockmagazine or website. This website gives you all the news and a chance to contact kerrang. This helped me gain ideas for my poster because it shows me the house style in which i can use. Kerrang is one of the biggest magazines for this genre so taking ideas from this style will give me a good insight into the format i should use in my advertisment and poster.
Another punk/rock website is Metal hammer which is more extreme then Kerrang but is the same style of music genre. This website offers the same aspects e.g news, events and podcasts etc. Both of these websites along with others give mee good ideas because of there style and how there all similar. I can use these websites to help me create my poster because i can use similar codes and conventions.
