CD/Album covers

Album covers have been and are becoming more important to music culture and they are a great way for bands and artist to market their music. A good example of the importance of a cover design is the design team Hipgnosis through their work with Pink Floyd albums. Also for my subsidary task i have to attempt to create a CD cover for a punk/rock band and i have researched similar genres of album covers whcih will help me recognize the style for that particular genre. An album cover is purely used to advertise a particular artist or band and to help their music sell. CD covers have come along way since vinyl records with cardboard sleeves and are now using graphic design and photography/illustration to create the perfect album cover.
